Things I Am In Love With Right Now
- Google Calendar. It has the simple and attractive Google look. It goes anywhere. It has Google Maps integrated. And you can find "layers" other people have created and put them on your own calendar. For example: someone created a complete 2006 SEC football schedule that is now in orange on all my Saturdays (and a few Thursdays as well). Happiness.
- Nature Valley peanut butter granola bars. Yum. And pretty healthy, if they'd just take out that little bit of high fructose corn syrup.
- Uncle Ben's microwavable rice in a pouch. I have never been able to make rice well, especially brown rice. But a few weeks ago I decided I wanted to make fried rice to go along with my homemade gyoza (yes, I know those are two different types of Asian cuisine; just be impressed that I made gyoza). Thanks to Uncle Ben, my brown rice was perfect and ready to go in my fake-wok in ninety seconds flat. Hallelujah.
- Jack Johnson. I bought Jack's first CD and enjoyed it. But the Fabric Snob introduced me to a Jack bootleg from a Boston show, and I am in love. (Since I am quite anti-stealing music, let me just say that if Jack ever puts out a full-length live CD I will purchase it immediately. This, to my knowledge, is unavailable for purchase.)
- G. Love. The new CD is my current favorite workout album.
- Snow Patrol. The new CD gets better every time I listen - love the lyrics.
- Pandora.com. Tiffany introduced me to this fabulous invention. Tell it who you like and it creates your own radio station, playing people you already know you like and people it thinks you'll like. Give each song the thumbs up or thumbs down. See the "attributes" of each song (apparently I like acoustic rhythm guitar and the occasional smooth male lead vocal).
- Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. My love of the West Wing is well documented. This has Aaron Sorkin's writing, Matthew Perry, Timothy Busfield and (my personal favorite) Bradley Whitford. It's smart. It's funny. I see real potential here. Click on the link and scroll down - you can watch the premiere online. So they say.
- Matt Wertz. I discovered him on Myspace and just ordered his brand-spankin' new CD, being unable to find it at Tower yesterday. If the rest of it is anything like the stuff on his Myspace, it'll be in permanent rotation on the replacement iPod, whenever he or she may arrive.
- Thing I am NOT in love with right now: the guy that stole my wallet and iPod. It was a sad day. A very sad day.

someone gifted me those cds, I'm sharing the love. As it has resulted in the purchase of 3 cds, 1 ep, and a trip to Knoxville just to see him, I'm not feeling too bad. I agree with you re: immediate purchase of professionally released live set.
